Dope Dinner Series, No. 4 | Daniel Ansen

Nov 01, 2022Brian Hibbard

[UPDATE, THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT]

This time around for our Dope Dinner Series, we're welcoming Daniel Ansen of Domaine Ansen, cruising all the way over from Alsace to have dinner with us...I mean, maybe he has a few other stops, we're very honored nonetheless. Joining in the dinner fun is Daniel's importer, Bon Vivant Imports. To set the mood, they offer a quick, beautiful history and vibe about our guest of honor.

Joining in the dinner fun is Daniel's importer, Bon Vivant Imports. To set the mood, they offer a quick, beautiful history and vibe about our guest of honor:

Domaine Ansen has been a family of grape growers, fruit orchard farmers, cattle raisers, and all things in between, for over 400 years. Daniel has spent time mastering the farming and winemaking trade not only in Alsace, but also Australia, the United States, and Bordeaux, where he went to enology school. In 2010 he moved back into the old family house with his wife Karine and took over the fields from his father, looking forward to converting everything to organic viticulture, and starting to make wine from their own grapes that had always gone to a local cooperative. Careful hand harvesting, the use of stainless steel for natural fermentations and aging, and very little (to zero) sulfite use in the finished wines, he lets each grape express their natural characteristics to the fullest, be it laser acidity, sweet ripe fruit, or a combination of both. To accompany Daniel's incredibly terroir focused wines, we've put together a 6-Course tasting menu designed by Chef Ike Hippensteel, Sous Chef Inna Surita, and Pastry Chef McKayla SnowMassara. Where the wine doesn't stop flowing, also expect incredible seasonal flavors, vivacious, fun times with eaters, drinkers, and geeks alike. It gets pretty cozy in here, so get ready to meet some new buddies!

Below you'll find the menu and all of the logistical info, which we ask that you read first if you haven't attended before. Hit us up with any questions of course. We'd love it if you'd spend a cool evening with us!
