100% Barbera, harvested from 2 parcels (Gatti and Battorella) amounting to one hectare, planted between 1920 and 1960 on calcareous clay with southern exposure. There are even some bush vines here, rarely seen in Piedmont. Harvested between September 27th and 29th at low yields of 4,500 kg/ha (about 26 hl/ha). The grapes are destemmed and are fermented sponateously in concrete tanks. Maceration for the 2018 vintage lasted a full 60 days. The wine was aged for 18 months in used barriques of 225 and 300L. Bottled with a wide filtration and bottled aged for an additional six months before release.
